 In-Hand, On - Line Groundwork & Riding
The beginning of Dressage is all for the horse. Everything we do should be to help the horse carry us in a relaxed and balanced manner. Dressage is about physical development...or is it only that?

Basic concepts of Dressage to help you and your horse get the most out of your time together.

State of Body = State of Mind
As the horse develops strength, suppleness and balance, an interaction takes place between the state of body and state of mind: the flight instinct recedes, and as the horse moves into self carriage, his confidence will grow. For every physical position there is a matching emotion.

Gymnastic exercises "empower" the horse, by developing his physical ability, his pride and self confidence will grow and he will experience joy through his own movement!

The topics covered in this workshop:
-The Bend: Alignment on a circle
 -Transitions: Create smooth, seamless transitions
-Working Gaits: What are they? And how to use them.

Working towards Balance & Self Carriage in Mind & Body

There are many "states" of balance that effect movement, gymnastic ability, emotional control, and mental focus.
What applies to the horse will apply equally to the human, both on the ground and in the saddle.

This clinic will emphasize working on the ground, both in simulations and with our horses. As we practise and understand the "movement" in ourselves, we experience new insight into how it helps our horse develop strength, balance and movement. We learn the difference between Quality and quantity, that less is often more, and slow down! to the moment at hand.

Basic concepts of Dressage to help you and your horse get the most out of your time together.

The topics covered in this workshop
-Posture: Understanding what is correct and why it's important!
-Longitudinal & Lateral Balance: Starting Lateral work correctly
-Confidence, Conversation & Relaxation: How to keep it going
